There's few things from my past life of unhealthy eating that I miss. But after 18 months, I still get that glassy-eyed stare when I hear the word cannoli. I'm immediately transported to Corbo's Bakery in Little Italy, where I've been known to polish off those sweet creme-filled, crispy-shelled pastries two at a time.
Hey, if you've ever had one, can you blame me? There's even a famous scene from The Godfather where, after whacking Paulie in the car, Don Corleone's loyal lieutenant says, "Leave the gun. Take the cannoli."
